Raku Christmas Cottage - Emerald (SECONDS)

Sale Price:£30.00 Original Price:£47.00
Sold Out

Please note this is a second - there is a crack along the back of the cottage from the raku firing (please see photos).

We’re really excited to bring back the mini versions of our kurinuki cottages as Christmas decorations! They come ready to hang up with a small light inside for a warm glow through the windows. The light is removable, so for the rest of the year, these mini cottages can be used as ornaments, lanterns or incense burners, which means they’re not just for Christmas!

This Christmas cottage has been finished in a metallic glaze and fired in a raku kiln - heated to 1,000°c before being set on fire and then plunged into water to give unpredictable and exciting results. The mix of coloured metallic foils reminds me of traditional Christmas Tree baubles.

Take a look at one of the raku firings here.

As these decorations are heavier than your average bauble, it’s best to place them on a strong branch or on a hook over the fireplace.

  • Approx. dimensions: 70mm x 70 mm x 90 mm.

  • Carved from a block of clay using the Japanese kurinuki technique.

  • Comes with a ribbon and battery-powered LED light inside (takes 3x LR44 batteries).
